International Jubilee Conference of the Institute for Bulgarian Language



Main Conference

The International Annual Conference of the Institute for Bulgarian Language “Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin” is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Institute.

The topics of the conference cover (but are not limited to):

  • Contemporary Bulgarian Language
  • Bulgarian Lexicology and Lexicography
  • Terminology and Terminography
  • History of Bulgarian Language
  • Bulgarian Dialectology
  • Bulgarian Etymology
  • Bulgarian Onomastics

  • Computational Linguistics

Round Tables

Two round tables will be held at the conference: New Approaches in Bulgarian Linguistics and New Approaches in the Bulgarian Language Teaching for discussions on current issues and innovative methods and approaches in linguistic studies and Bulgarian language teaching. The contributions presented at the round tables will be included as papers in the conference proceedings.

Poster Session

The Poster session will be held on the two days of the conference with the discussions to be held in coffee breaks. The papers will be included in the conference proceedings.

Exhibition

Many prominent Bulgarian linguistics have been part of the rich 75-year history of the Institute for Bulgarian Language including academicians: Prof. Lubomir Andreychin, Prof. Vladimir Georgiev, Prof. Stoyan Romanski; Corresponding Members: Prof. Ivan Lekov, Prof. Dora Ivanova-Mircheva, Prof. Kiril Mirchev, Prof. Valentin Stankov; Prof. Yordan Zaimov, Prof. Vesa Kyuvlieva-Mishaykova, Prof. Iordan Penchev, Prof. Stoyko Stoykov, Prof. Todor A. Todorov, Prof. Kristalina Cholakova and many others.

The conference will be accompanied by an exhibition that will present the prominent researchers who have worked at the Institute for Bulgarian Language and have significant scientific achievements in Bulgarian and Slavic Language Studies.

Languages

The presentations and discussions will be held in one of the following languages: English, Bulgarian, any of the Slavic languages, German, French.

Time and Place

The Conference will be held at the Central Building of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (Sofia, 1 15 Noemvri Str.), on 15th and 16th May 2017.
