The main directions of scientific study cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>theoretical problems of the formal description of natural languages,<\/li>\n<li>morphological, syntactic and semantic analysis,<\/li>\n<li>electronic dictionaries,<\/li>\n<li>ontologies and semantic relations,<\/li>\n<li>corpus linguistics,<\/li>\n<li>document categorisation and annotation,<\/li>\n<li>information extraction and information retrieval,<\/li>\n<li>part-of-speech, syntactic, and word sense disambiguation,<\/li>\n<li>machine translation,<\/li>\n<li>etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our current research priorities are oriented towards automatic word-sense disambiguation and the problems of machine translation.<\/p>\n<p>DCL has at its disposal large coverage language resources \u2013 dictionaries, lexical-semantic data bases, corpora, as well as highly-performing computer applications for language data processing.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Computational Linguistics has attracted highly-qualified young professionals from different fields of knowledge &#8211; linguists, computer scientists, mathematicians, logicians.
