The journal publishes studies and critical reviews illuminating problems of the current status and historical development of Bulgarian. It regularly gives instructions on the problems of correctness and purity of the native language. It presents half-annual bibliographical information about the linguistic materials published in the country and annual information about the Bulgarian studies publications abroad.<\/p>\n

The journal was founded in 1951 by Corresponding Member Lyubomir Andreychin who also was its editor-in-chief until 1975.<\/p>\n
