In 2019 (on 14th February) was the 1150th anniversary of the death of St. Cyril \u2013 one of the brightest minds of the Medieval Ages.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.5cm;\">The Exhibition presents 20 images of <a href=\"\/\/ibl.bas.bg\/en\/balgarskite-azbuki\/\">Glagolitic letters<\/a>\u00a0and their counterparts in\u00a0<a href=\"\/\/ibl.bas.bg\/en\/balgarskite-azbuki\/\">the Old Bulgarian Cyrillic script<\/a>\u00a0and in the modern alphabet. The letters comprise the words &#8220;\u0431\u044a\u043b\u0433\u0430\u0440\u0441\u043a\u0438\u044f&#8221; (Bulgarian), &#8220;\u0434\u0443\u0445&#8221; (spirit), &#8220;\u0432\u0435\u0447\u043d\u043e\u0441\u0442&#8221; (eternity), conveying the message that the Bulgarian spirit is eternal. Below each image you can see the Glagolitic letters which have a correspondence in the Bulgarian alphabet. Elka Mircheva<\/a> for the official opening speech.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.5cm;\">Congratulations were expressed by: <a href=\"\/\/ibl.bas.bg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/\u0421\u0411\u044a\u0440\u043b\u0438\u0435\u0432\u0430.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">prof. Slaviya Barlieva<\/a>, Director of the Ciryl and Methodius Centre at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, <a href=\"\/\/ibl.bas.bg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/\u0410\u041c\u0422\u043e\u0442\u043e\u043c\u0430\u043d\u043e\u0432\u0430-2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">prof. Anna-Maria Totomanova<\/a>, head of the Department for Cyril and Methodius Studies at Sofia University, and prof. Anisava Miltenova, head of the Department for Old Bulgarian Literature at the Institute for Literature at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0.5cm;\">Assoc. prof. Yanov Miltenov from the Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences concluded the ceremony with a reading of <a href=\"\/\/ibl.bas.bg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/\u041f\u0440\u0463\u0436\u0434\u0435-\u0479\u0431\u043e-\u0441\u043b\u043e\u0432\u0463\u043d\u0435.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">an extract from the
