Abstract

Тhe study is part of a wider research that examines different aspects of clause linkage in Bulgarian. A definition for a clause is formulated to draw up the scope of the study. The semantic features of the noun attachment site are presented: subject, complement, adjunct or predicative in the clause; modifier argument and modifier adjunct within the noun phrase. The admissible noun classes are specified for the attachment site of different types of relative clauses: restrictive, non-restrictive, and maximising (kind and amount). The levels of attachment of the kind, amount, restrictive, and non-restrictive
relative clauses are described, and it has been shown that these levels are of a distributive nature for the four types of relative clauses.
