The Annual Papers of the Institute for Bulgarian Language Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin is a journal publishing selected peer-reviewed research focused on Bulgarian language on the basis of its originality, importance, and impact.

The journal is concerned equally with the synchronic and diachronic aspects of the Bulgarian language and publishes articles of the highest quality that make a substantial contribution to the analysis and description of the modern state and the history of the Bulgarian language. The journal carries articles on all core aspects of Bulgarian, including syntax, morphology, phonology, semantics, etymology, corpus linguistics, lexis, terminology, and (recently) computational linguistics.

The journal Papers of the Institute for Bulgarian Language Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin is a successor to one of the oldest journals of the Institute, published in the period 1951–1985. The publication of the journal was renewed in 2014 by the Institute for Bulgarian language Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin. The name of the journal in English was previously translated as Annual of the Institute for Bulgarian Language Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin or Proceedings of the Institute for Bulgarian Language Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin.

The most qualified reviewers who are not affiliated with the same institution as the authors are selected among the available reviewers (more than 70 all together from Bulgarian and European research institutions). The reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscripts in accordance with Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) principles. The journal provides a Publication Ethics statement for authors, reviewers, and editors.

The journal Papers of the Institute for Bulgarian Language Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin provides both printed version and open access. The articles published in the journal are open to the public and reusable under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public Licence (CC-BY-4.0). No Article Processing Charges (APC) are collected.

The journal is indexed in the leading databases and, since it is open access, has a broad readership. The journal has H-Index 11 at Google Scholar and is also indexed by the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL), the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), the Slavic Humanities Index, the Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources (ROAD), etc. The journal is a member of CROSSREF and the published articles are assigned a Digital Identifier (DOI).

The journal is read by scientists, teachers, students, and a wide range of interested people all over Europe and the world. Each year, the printed copies of the journal are distributed to 4 libraries in Bulgaria, 26 libraries all over Europe, and 4 university libraries in Bulgaria.
