Abstract
The paper examines the structural and semantic features of the interjections in two diachronic linguistic corpora: the notes of the Bulgarian writers from the 10th to the 18th century and the New Bulgarian damascenes from the 17th century. The affiliation of о, ох, олеле, е, уви, горе, горко, злѣ, тежко to the emotionally expressive interjections, which are the richest class in the history of our language, is established. As vocatives are realized о, ох, ои. The secondary interjections амин, я послушай, слушай, ами послушай, тако ми, тако
ми Бога, жив Господ Бог belong to the communicative type, they function as discursive and pragmatic markers. Ой, олеле, ох, е, е де, я слушай, о горко ми, о злѣ are defined as part of the colloquial language.
