New Data for the Phonetic System of Rechane Village, Prizren Region

Abstract
The study considers for a first time completely the phonetic system of Rechane village, Prizren region, Kosovo republic. The analysis is made based on new dialectal material, personally collected by the author during the conduction of candidate-student courses of Bulgarian language, Literature, History and Culture for the Bulgarian minority there during the period of 2015–2019. The reflexes of the specific Old Bulgarian vowels and consonant element are shown. The distinctive features of the dialect are compared with the similar phenomenon in the Bulgarian language territory and also in the neighbouring Slavic languages. The study draws conclusions about the ethnic affiliation of the native population as well as the unity of the Bulgarian linguistic continuum and the location of the western border of our linguistic ground.
