Abstract:

The main goal of the project is to create interactive culinary map of the Bulgarian language territory on the Internet. The map will present not only to the science but also to the wider public in Bulgaria and abroad language and etnographic materials, audio and video recordings and also gallery of photos about the culinary culture of the Bulgarians as a part of the national identity. The material will be current and authentic that was collected during expeditions. The project is an original scientific and applied research not only by its idea and methodology, but also by its realisation and by using the most modern technologies. The wide popularisation of the map has a goal to aim the public interest to the national cuisine and to the spread of the Bulgarian language and dialects within and outside the state’s borders.

The project is part of the two priorirty scientific directions of the Institute for Bulgarian language: Electronic Language Resources and Tools for their Processing and Cultural and Historical Linguistic Heritage of the Bulgarians.
