Presenting “Bulgarian Lexicology and Phraseology”

On 26th March 2015 at Sofia University the works “Bulgarian Lexicology and Phraseology” (in three volumes) was presented. The authors include scientists from the Institute for Bulgarian Language and New Bulgarian University (L. Krumova-Tsvetkova, E. Pernishka, D. Blagoeva, S. Kolkovska, M. Bozhilova, St. Kaldieva-Zaharieva, I. Kasabov). The presentation was organised by the Philology Section at the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria. Corr. member prof. Maria Popova read her review of the work.

“Bulgarian Lexicology and Phraseology” (vols. I-III) is the first of its kind in Bulgarian linguistics extensive study of the lexical and phraseological system of Bulgarian, describing their main characteristics and revealing their specific features related to Bulgarian national culture, history and philosophy. The study has received two awards – Book of the Year in 2013 from the Institute for Bulgarian Language and Most Distinguished Scientific Achievement in 2014 from the Union of Scientist in Bulgaria.
