Modern Trends in Linguistic Research,
Dedicated to the 85th Anniversary from the Birth of Prof. Yordan Penchev.
The session will take place as part of the events at Paisievi cheteniya 2016 (10 – 11 November) at Plovdiv University.
Prof. Yordan Penchev had worked on a wide variety of areas by combining modern linguistic theories and methods with deep knowledge of the native language. He is a natural successor of the work of his teachers and at the same time is a pioneer of modern linguistics in Bulgaria.
The main achievements of prof. Penchev are in the field of syntax, semantics and intonation of the Bulgarian language. Alongside his main research, he also shared his views on a number of morphological problems – such as the problem of the system of the Bulgarian verb tenses and their meanings; the issues of the morphological category of definiteness, etc.
Submitted papers should relate to issues of Bulgarian linguistics, to present original research and to reflect modern trends in linguistics. The registration fee is 50 BGN (€25). Expenses are covered by the participant’s institution.
Important dates:
Application for participation: 30 September.
Notification of acceptance of papers: 15 October.
Deadline for submission of the final paper: December 15.
The papers will be included in a collection published by the Academic Publishing House “Prof. Marin Drinov”. Technical requirements for formatting of the papers are published here.
