The Bulgarian Dialect Map, developed by a team of researchers from the Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, now also includes audio recordings of authentic dialect speech from various regions. Among them are recordings from areas that are no longer within Bulgaria’s present-day borders but were historically inhabited by Bulgarian-speaking communities, including parts of the Aegean region, Macedonia, Northern Dobruja, the Western Outlands, and others.
The Bulgarian Dialect Map and the authentic dialect recordings it contains will be presented on 8 December 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Musala Hall of the Hilton Hotel, Sofia, at a press conference organised within the project “Integrating New Practices and Knowledge into Undergraduate and Graduate Education in Computational Linguistics”, implemented by the Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
