On 16 February 2015 at 11:00 a.m., the official award ceremony of the Acad. Vladimir Georgiev Fund Award for 2015 will be held in Hall 207 of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The event is organised by the Institute for Bulgarian Language “Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin” at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the National Donation Fund “13 Centuries Bulgaria”. The award will be presented by Acad. Stefan Vodenicharov, President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The Acad. Vladimir Georgiev Fund Award was established in accordance with the will of Acad. Vladimir Ivanov Georgiev, one of the most prominent Bulgarian linguists, who received widespread international recognition as a specialist in Indo-European linguistics. Under the Fund’s statute, revised in 2013, the award is presented annually for individual or collective works published within the preceding three years that make a significant and original scholarly contribution to a particular field of linguistics. This year, the award will be presented to Corr. Member Emilia Pernishka, Dr. Sci., for her work Local Names in the Svishtov Region.
