
On 8 and 9 April 2015, the Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences organised the international seminar “Applications of Language Technologies in the Humanities”. The seminar was aimed at PhD students, postgraduates and young researchers working in the humanities – linguistics, literary studies, history and cultural studies. Its purpose was to enable young researchers to acquire new research methods that would facilitate the representation of knowledge and its preservation and dissemination. The guest lecturers included Matthew Driscoll from the University of Copenhagen, Marten During from the Digital Humanities Lab in Luxembourg, and Marko Tadic from the University of Zagreb. The seminar was attended by PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and young researchers from the Institute for Bulgarian Language, the Institute for Literature, the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies, the Cyril and Methodius Research Center, Sofia University and Plovdiv University. Young researchers from Hungary and Romania also attended.
