Language Masters Competition for University Students to Be Held at South-West University “Neofit Rilski”

On 31 March 2026 at 10:30 a.m., Room 114 of South-West University “Neofit Rilski” will host the Language Masters Competition for University Students, organised jointly by the Institute for Bulgarian Language “Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin” at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Department of Bulgarian Language of the Faculty of Philology, and the Communication Centre of the Faculty of Law and History at South-West University “Neofit Rilski”.

The competition will bring together student teams that will compete in various areas of linguistics, including grammar, spelling, phraseology, semantics, and the use of foreign lexical items in Bulgarian. The format includes several competitive rounds featuring questions of varying difficulty, as well as interactive games involving the audience between the different stages of the competition.

The competition tasks were developed within the framework of the Institute’s “The Written Word Remains. Write Correctly!” project, which aims to promote literacy and foster young people’s interest in the Bulgarian language.

The Language Masters Competition for University Students continues the tradition of joint educational initiatives organised by the Institute for Bulgarian Language and higher education institutions across the country to promote the Bulgarian language and encourage young people’s active engagement with linguistic studies.
