International Seminar “Applications of Language Technologies in Humanities”

On the 8th and 9th April 2015 the Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences organised an international seminar “Applications of Language Technologies in Humanities”. The seminar is aimed at PhD students, postgraduates and young scientists working in the field of humanities – linguistics, literature studies, history, culturological studies. The purpose is for the young researchers to acquire new scientific methods which will help the representation of knowledge and its preservation and dissemination. The list of guest lecturers includes Matthew Driscoll from the University of Copenhagen, Marten During from the Digital Humanities Lab in Luxembourg, and Marko Tadic from the University of Zagreb. The seminar was attended by PhD students, postdoc and young researchers from the Institute for Bulgarian Language, Institute for Literature, Institute for Ethnology and Folklore, Cyril and Methodius Research Center, Sofia University and Plovdiv University. In attendance are also young researchers from Hungary and Romania.
