“The Written Word Remains. Write Correctly!” Again in Pazardzhik

Find the meaning of the Polish phrase robi z igły widły (direct translation – turn the needle into a hayfork) and find an idiom with the same meaning in Bulgarian. This and other similar tasks were included in the amusing language game “To Investigate Together!” on 26th April at the Ivan Sergeevich Aksakov Professional High School in Pazardzhik. The game was prepared by researchers from the Institute for Bulgarian Language and the initiative is part of the Institute’s campaign “The Written Word Remains. Write Correctly!”. Three teams took part – “Sea”, “Sun” and “Fire”, and demonstrated excellent knowledge, competitive spirit and most importantly – creative thinking. Between rounds the audience also had the chance to take part in interesting language games.

The campaign “The Written Word Remains. Write Correctly!” is planned within the Bulgarian Academy Sciences’ activity “Implementing Modern Methods in the Education and the Work with Young Talents”.
