The present map, developed by the Department of Dialectology and Linguistic Geography, is the first step towards creating an electronic interactive map of the dialect division of the Bulgarian language. It presents the major dialect areas across the entire Bulgarian linguistic territory and enables the general public to become acquainted with the principal Bulgarian dialects and to explore their geographical distribution.
