On the occasion of 24 May – the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture and of Slavic Literature, the Institute for Bulgarian Language “Professor Lyubomir Andreychin” at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences invites you to join the “The Written Word Remains. Write Correctly!” campaign.
For yet another year, the campaign will take place in the heart of Sofia, in front of Knyazheska Garden, opposite Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on 24 May, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a short Bulgarian spelling and punctuation dictation, test their knowledge of Bulgarian spelling and punctuation, and pay tribute to Bulgarian education and culture, as well as to the Bulgarian teachers, scholars, university lecturers, educators, and cultural figures.

Young researchers from the Institute for Bulgarian Language will be on hand to provide guidance and explain some of the most common spelling and punctuation mistakes.
The campaign is part of the Institute’s long-standing initiative “The Written Word Remains. Write Correctly!”, which aims to draw the attention of students and parents, policymakers, media professionals, teachers, researchers, university lecturers, educational experts, and educational institutions to the immense importance of education and science, as well as of literacy as their indispensable foundation, for the development of society.
