Abstract:
The project aims to research the state of the bulgarian first name system at the beginning of the 21st century by concentrating on the dynamics of it’s development for a period of 10 years (2008 – 2018). It is intended to make a massive korpus based research of the names with sustainable spreading of the modern first names as their orthography. The research will allow to highlight the influence of the global tendencies on the bulgarian first name system after the entering of Bulgaria in EU (2007) also it will be able to establish how much and under what form continue to exist the traditional models for naming in the bulgarian society.
The project is part of the priorirty scientific direction of the Institute for Bulgarian language Cultural and Historical Linguistic Heritage of Bulgaria
